Halloween

Activity 2
·         It was an Irish myth about a man nicknamed "Stingy Jack.
·         He decided to keep the coin and put it into his pocket next to a silver cross.
·         The Devil would not bother Jack for one year and that, should Jack die, he would not claim his soul.
·         Jack again tricked the Devil into climbing into a tree, and carved a sign of the cross to prevent the Devil coming down from the tree.
·         He died soon after.
·         God would not allow him into heaven, and the Devil sent him off into the dark night with only a burning coal to light his way.
·         The Irish called Jack’s ghost Jack O’Lantern.
·         The Irish began to carve scary faces into turnips or potatoes and to place them into windows or near doors to frighten away Stingy Jack and other wandering evil spirits.
